Model Josie Maran, 28, and longtime boyfriend, photographer Ali Alborizi, welcomed daughter Rumi Joon, on June 20th in Los Angeles. This is Maran's first child.

I'm assuming Josie named her daughter after the 13th century Persian mystic and poet Rumi. A beautiful name. I like when parents name their children after people they admire. As for the name Joon, it sounds good next to Rumi. Rumi Joon. It has a ring to it.

Since I remember, Rumi has been Hazrat-e-Molana. He has never been belittled to a small concept of "Joon(meaning sweetie)." Hopefully the parents are aware of the sacred figure of Rumi in the Iranian, Islamic and Sufism culture.
